The Place: Polo forest at a distance of about 150kms from Ahmedabad is nestled in the Arravali range. It is in the tribal belt of Vijaynagar bordering Rajasthan. Polo forest is famous for the fantastic bird life which includes hornbills and other forest birds. It is also known for the scenic beauty, specially so in monsoon. Legend says that Maharana Pratap had taken refuge in this forest and had prepared for the fight against the Moghuls. There are remnants of Jain shrines deep in the forest.
Things To Carry: Light bedding, night dress, water bottle, a good torch, sports shoes, full sleeved shirt, full pant/track pant, plate, bowl, glass, spoon, shorts/tights for bathing, towel, ball pen, diary/notebook and a sun cap. Do not carry expensive items with you.Activities: The camp involves activities like trekking/climbing, bird watching, art and craft. Polo has great bird life and most campers would see hornbills.
